Quentin Blake – The Hospital Drawings

The Nightingale Project humanises the environment in hospitals and health centres through art and music. Some NHS building are drab, even depressing places; our work is based on the idea that there is no reason for potentially stressful conversations about your health to take place in rooms that are stark and institutional. Why not turn wards and consulting rooms into welcoming, healing places?

The Nightingale Project is a charity fund that works mainly with CNWL NHS Foundation Trust, which has many sites in and around London. We aim to refresh and transform these sites for the benefit of the many thousands of people that use them. We arrange temporary exhibitions in waiting rooms, commission artists and designers to bring their work to wards and therapy rooms for permanent display, and bring live music into hospitals.
